ALL 14 OF THE WORLD'S 8000 METER PEAKS
It was an adventure that took nearly nine years. On 17 May 2010 Spanish climber Edurne Pasaban (*1973) radioed from the summit of Shisha Pangma: “A dream has come true”. She had achieved her goal of reaching the summit of all 14 of the world’s 8000m peaks.
She has a university degree in business administration and engineering (MBA at the ESADE Business School in Barcelona) and is now one of the best and most accomplished female climbers in the world. Nowadays she is speaker and executive coach in different companies transmitting her experience in the mountains to the working environment. She is owner and employer of Mountaineers for the Himalayas Foundation Edurne Pasaban where its goals are the development of projects regarding the education of children of the Himalayas. Most of her current projects involve first ascents in Asia.
Since 1958 Gore has been climbing its own eight-thousander. I’m sure that it hasn’t always been easy… Nevertheless, thank you so much for your hard work, the constant innovation and the passion that you’ve transmitted to us. I, and many more like me, have trusted in Gore because they have won every little piece of our trust. Thank you for being by my side and protecting me.
