Join us and you never know, you could discover something you never knew you loved. Don’t forget to check out our GORE-TEX Guide to Festival Camping too. 1. Electric Forest Rothbury, Michigan June 22–25, June 29–July 2 To really escape for a weekend and embrace the true festival experience, try Electric Forest in Michigan. This eclectic festival has an electric atmosphere, with varied musical genres appealing to many different tastes. This year’s headline acts including Bassnectar and The String Cheese Incident, which are sure to get the crowd pumping. Nestled in the middle of a beautiful forest complete with cosy log cabins, this festival is as far from city life as you could get. The forest also comes alive with incredible light shows which help to spread the party vibes. 2. Wilderness Oxfordshire, UK August 3-6 The clue is in the name. This festival is all about escaping the hustle and bustle of your daily routine and getting lost in nature for a weekend of incredible music and outdoor activities. The tranquil Cornbury Park is transformed into a canvas paradise, with everything you need to let go and enjoy the music. Try wild swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Majestic in the center of the estate, then lie back on the banks as you think about nothing but the sun drying your damp hair, the gentle beats of the music, and the sumptuous smells coming from the nearby food stalls. 3. Træna Music Festival Træna, Norway July 6-9 This intimate festival is hosted in Norway’s oldest fishing village, an island in northern Norway with a population of just 500 people. The festival sees all residents getting involved, meaning there is a real community-spirited feel. But not only this, the atmosphere is remarkable – partly due to the incredible location and jaw-droppingly beautiful views. With sets in ancient caves and acoustic gigs in the mini local chapel, this is a festival with spirit. What’s more, hiking trails wend their way around the Træna mountains, so set off and make sure to look out for the sea eagles en route. 4. Lake Festival Unterpremstätten, Austria August 10-12 Mix music with sports in this action-packed festival in Austria. Held around the picturesque banks of Lake Schwarz, tickets for this festival will also buy you passes for the recreation area where you can enjoy activities including diving, water skiing and wake boarding. This year’s artists sure to get the crowd in the party mood include Marshmello, Timmy Trumpet and W&W. 5. Fuji Rock Festival Niigata, Japan July 28-30 Set in the Naeba Ski Resort, this special festival requires a cable car trip up a mountain to take you to the party. Not only does this save lugging your gear to the top of the mountain, you can also enjoy the dramatic views while soaking in the atmosphere of fellow festival-goers. This year’s acts include Aphex Twin, LCD Soundsystem and Lorde, which you watch against the backdrop of a beautiful mountain range. Fresh air and fresh music, what more could you need? 6. Burning Man Nevada, USA August 27-September 4 This unusual festival has been described as “like landing on another planet.” Why? Because once a year, tens of thousands of people gather in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City – a temporary town with a distinct and party-loving culture. The atmosphere is remarkable, and being set in the middle of the desert, extra emphasis is placed on filling the space with weird and wonderful art, crafts and creativity. The festival has been home to awe-inspiring sculptures including play on musical swings and huge mechanical hyenas, so we’re expecting nothing less from this year’s event! The crescendo of the festival is the burn of the ‘man’. He takes a different form every year, and watches over festival goers for the duration of the festival until the fiery finale. Relax as you stare into the beautiful natural vista topped with an abundance of magical creativity!

    The #ThinkProject

This guide is brought to you as part of the #ThinkProject, our new campaign aimed at encouraging you to stop, think about something you’ve never done before – then we challenge you to give it a go! Our campaign is inspired by the simple fact that we don’t want you to think about GORE-TEX products. The less you have to concentrate on your gear, the better it is. When wearing GORE-TEX products, you have the freedom to be fully in the moment and think about whatever it is you are feeling or doing. Discover a festival. Think about the front row. Think about the perfect view. Don’t think about weather protection. Don’t think about GORE-TEX products. Have you visited any of these festivals, or have you tried any others in a beautiful setting?
