Run2 – my GORE-TEX Transalpine-Run debut: The Equipment
“Absolute Beginners” – Daniela and I have registered to take part in the GORE-TEX Transalpine-Run “Run2”. Our trail running experience is non existent, but that hasn't stopped us wanting to attempt the first two stages of the legendary race. The Run 2 route covers a total distance of 71 km and involves an elevation gain of more than 4,000 m. The total of the descents is also in the region of 4,000 m.

Race preparation is in full swing and it goes without saying that equipment plays an important role in this. It's all about trail running shoes, running wear and technical equipment. I'm already really well equipped with GORE-TEX products, and particularly in cold winter weather the GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ jacket from GORE WEAR® is an ideal companion. In snow or if it's muddy I can also wear my La Sportiva GORE-TEX shoes. In addition to outerwear and shoes, I've been told that I really should buy a running watch. Read on for a list of the equipment that I'm using for the start of my Run2 training programme: [productlist ids= 3392,3396,3399] [productlist ids= 3406,3408,3410] Although it's important to have the right gear for the project, without the right training, it would all be rather a waste. With immediate effect, regular training is on the programme! More about that later. Interested in finding out more about “My GORE-TEX Transalpine-Run debut?” Here you can read about - The Decision
